Who I am

Love & Leashes is run by Charlotte Goddard, a dog walker and pet sitter in Wokingham, Berkshire. I’m the data controller for the personal information you share through this website. You can contact me about anything on this page at charlottegoddard6@icloud.com.

What I collect

• Meet & greet enquiries: your name, address, email or phone number, your dog’s name and breed, the care you’re interested in and any notes you add.
• Customer accounts: your full name, email address, contact number and home address, plus a securely stored password, which I can never see.
• Bookings: the dates and services you book, your dog’s name, any notes for me and whether you’ve paid.
• Your choices: when you agreed to this notice and whether you’d like updates about new dates.

Why I use it and my lawful basis

• To arrange and provide care (contract): to reply to your enquiry, visit your home, collect your dog, contact you during a walk or sit and send updates.
• To keep records (legal obligation): booking and payment records are kept for tax and insurance purposes.
• To keep the website secure (legitimate interests): for example, removing accounts that weren’t created from an invitation.
• Updates about new dates (consent): only if you tick the box. You can change your mind at any time from your account page.

I never sell your information or use it for advertising.

Who can see it

Only me. Your details are stored with Netlify, which hosts this website, its database and the account login service. Netlify processes the information on my behalf under data protection terms that include safeguards for any transfer outside the UK. I’d only share your information with anyone else if the law requires it, or with emergency services or a vet if your dog’s or someone’s safety depends on it.

How long I keep it

• Enquiries that don’t lead to a booking are deleted within 12 months.
• Your account details are kept while you’re a customer. You can delete them yourself at any time.
• Booking and payment records are kept for six years for tax purposes. If you delete your account, your name, email, dog’s name and notes are removed from them.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• see the information I hold about you, and download a copy
• correct anything that’s wrong or out of date
• have your information deleted
• object to, or ask me to restrict, how I use it
• withdraw your consent for updates at any time

Customers can view, edit, download and delete their details from their account page. For anything else, email me and I’ll respond within one month.

If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

This website only uses the cookies needed to keep you logged in to your account. There are no tracking or advertising cookies.
